Hot, Sweaty Feet

Updated: Mar 8, 2021

Hot, sweaty & smelly feet? Been there? Most of us have!

If you had to guess what the sweetest part of your body was, where would you pick?

There is no surprise that our feet come in at #1.

Why are our feet so sweaty? 🤷‍♂️

Our feet are naturally sweaty due to one of their main functions in keeping our body healthy and comfortable.

It’s a little thing called Thermoregulation.

Thermoregulation simply put, is the body's way to be able to maintain and regulate its temperature.

With regards to the feet, this typically involves the process of cooling down.

Sweat enables this by being evaporated from the skin, which has the effect of cooling the skin’s surface.

For sweat to be evaporated from the surface of the skin we need airflow, and this is where the issues with hot, sweaty & smelly feet begins.

Are hot, sweaty feet common?

1 in 20 people suffer from hyperhidrosis, a condition where individuals have excessively sweaty feet.

When we pair this with many traditional such as cotton and synthetic combinations which can impede airflow to the feet. We create a moist, hot & sweaty environment.

What can we do to decrease hot, sweaty feet?

This is where bamboo socks can help!

Bamboo enables natural airflow to the feet and has greater moisture wicking properties than comparable fibres.

Bamboo socks have this ability, due to the presence of micro ventilating gaps found naturally in the structure of bamboo fibre. Ultimately this ventilation allows for a breezy and cool environment to be created.

So for a cool and breezy friend in the fight against hot, sweaty & smelly feet, think our soft, light & comfy bamboo socks.

Your feet will thank you for it.
